Frances has always been a helpful and integral part of the team. When I first joined Customer Acquisition it was Frances who helped me learn who the experts in each subject matter were and who I should go to when I have specific questions. On many occasions Frances offered to not only help me become technically proficient in my day to day job but also become better at public speaking, branding and career growth.

A few specific things I noticed about Frances is that she:

• Serves as the subject matter expert and resource on significant features or areas of the codebase.
  • Specifically Forms. When I started my first form creation on platform-beta, it was under Frances’ guidance and mentorship. I noticed how quickly and easily she called out all potential blockers which saved me going down a rabbit hole once I started the project.
  • One thing to call out here is all the work Frances did on standardizing out form library which in turn saved me a few hours of coding as she had made individual components for many of the fields.
• Viewed as a leader, mentor to early career engineers on your team.
  • Frances always volunteers to help new engineers, interns and apprentices
  • When I first started, although Frances was not my “assigned” mentor she definitely made it clear that her DMs were open to me if I had any questions technical and non-technical.
• Acts as a culture steward on the team, making process improvements if needed and motivating and leveling up other engineers through mentorship, feedback, code reviews, etc.
  • Frances is always making improvements for the team and one specific example is all the work she put in to organize the cust-acq offsite from which we came out with so many action items to help our team and organization become better.
  • Frances is really thoughtful and aware when she reviews PRs to make sure I am pushing up reliable code to webapp. She catches errors or typos that I would have never caught and I am inspired by her diligence!

There is nothing I can think of that Frances can do to improve my experience as an engineer on the team as she already helps me and the rest of the team!
