Overview

At Byteboard, I built features with React, redesigned dashboards, improved interview flows for 20K+ candidates, and developed a new design system.

Highlights

• Byteboard is a startup focused on recreating the technical interview experience to be more effective, efficient, and equitable for all.
• I joined as the 10th hire and 3rd software engineer. Byteboard was later acquired by Karat in 2023.
• I worked with React, TypeScript, Next.js, MUI, and Firebase to add user-facing features.
• Redesigned dashboard with 4 conditional states to efficiently manage candidate data
• Improved top-of-funnel flow resulting in a better interview experience for 20K+ yearly candidates
• Enabled self-serve abilities for 60+ clients to perform interview actions on candidates more efficiently
• Introduced redesign of skills report view and received 4 positive client testimonials
• Developed a new design system to streamline component reuse across a team of 5 engineers
• Building new product features from start to finish, working cross-functionally through project conception, research, implementation, release, and maintenance
• Improving performance and reliability and polishing existing features
• Developing internal tools to support simplicity and productivity for the whole team
• Participating in planning to help shape the product and vision over the long term
