Celebrating Community and Career Growth with Techqueria at Salesforce Tower

Spoke at Techqueria x Slack’s fireside event on job hunting, AI, and career resilience—powered by community, cake pops, and Latiné excellence. 🌮💬✨

On January 16, 2025, we brought the heat to Salesforce Tower with a 🔥 Techqueria x Slack career fireside chat—a powerful afternoon of storytelling, strategy, and community for Latiné professionals navigating the tech industry.

I had the absolute honor of speaking alongside an all-star panel of Latina leaders:

  • Raquel Vélez – Sr. Engineering Manager, Slack
  • Monica Scott – Talent Advisor, Salesforce
  • M. Cristina Pullen – Sr. Technical Writer, Salesforce (moderator)
  • Together, we tackled everything from crafting standout resumes to building resilience in a rapidly evolving, AI-powered job market.

💡 Key themes included:

  • Future-proofing your career in tech 🧠
  • Navigating transitions and leveling up with intention 🚀
  • The power of relationships and community in job searching 🤝

This event was extra meaningful to me—it marked 5 years of working on Slack at Salesforce and gave me the chance to give back to a community that’s supported me throughout my journey.

We had over 100+ attendees, custom Techqueria/Fuego/Latinoforce swag, and cake pops from a local Latino-owned bakery (yes, they were muy delicioso). 🌮🧁🎁

Huge gratitude to our partners in making this event such a success:

  • Fuego ERG at Salesforce
  • Techqueria SF Bay Area
  • Nelson Bonilla, Veronica Sandoval Guerrero, Tany Rios Castro, and Michele Karakaş-Alarcón

We showed up for each other, celebrated wins, and shared the tools to thrive—not just survive—in this industry.
