AI Engineer Conference 2026: 10/10, No Notes ๐ฅ
A week of conversations with Elastic, Warp, PlanetScale, OpenAI, Sentry, LangChain, and Together AI about observability and agentic lifecycle tooling โ and how much of it runs through Slack.
AI Engineer Conference in San Francisco: 10/10, no notes. ๐ฅ
Spent most of my time in conversations about observability for agents and agentic lifecycle tooling โ the stuff that determines whether "agents in production" is a real thing or just a demo. I talked shop with folks from Elastic, Warp, PlanetScale, OpenAI, Sentry, LangChain, and Together AI, and walked away impressed by how sharp and generous every single one of those conversations was.
One thing that stood out across nearly every company I talked to: they're all using Slack extensively, and increasingly invoking agents directly inside the platform. Getting to hear that from the outside โ not just see it internally โ was a nice confirmation that the DevXP work we're doing is landing where it matters.
Shoutout to Zach Lloyd from Warp for taking the time to meet in person and for the invite to keep the feedback loop going. That's the kind of conference relationship that actually turns into something.
