Tidepool Day: Slack x Anthropic Bring Out 350+ People for a Day of AI Tooling ๐
Slack and Anthropic teamed up for a full day of keynotes, workshops, and lightning talks on AI tooling at Salesforce Tower โ including giving two of our interns the mic.
Tidepool Day was one of those days I'm still thinking about. ๐ Slack and Anthropic joined forces for a full day at Salesforce Tower โ 350+ people in the room and on livestream, a full lineup of keynotes, hands-on workshops, and lightning talks, all centered on AI tooling and what it actually looks like to build with Claude Code day to day.
The part I'm proudest of: making space for two of our interns, David Nintang and Louisa Zhang, to stand up in the Lightning Round alongside eight other Slack PDE speakers and share what they'd been building. Watching them hold their own next to seasoned engineers, PMs, and designers was genuinely one of the best parts of my summer.
A few threads from the day that stuck with me:
- Internalizing impermanence โ betting on where AI is going instead of where it's been, and being honest that our definitions of a "good eval" are still moving targets
- Real talk about security, tech debt, and growing junior engineers in a world where the tooling underneath them is changing every few months
Getting to be part of the Slack PDE team that made room for interns to have a real voice in these conversations โ not just observe them โ is exactly the kind of day-to-day I signed up for. ๐
