Speaking for Stanford SOLE ๐
Spoke at Stanford's Society of Latinx Engineers about breaking into industry, early career decisions, and AI tooling โ one of those Q&As where you can tell people are genuinely curious.

Had such a great time speaking for Stanford SOLE (Society of Latinx Engineers) at Toyon Hall! ๐ค
I spoke alongside Celeste Zepeda and we covered a lot of ground โ my career path, the work we're doing at Slack, and the technical challenges that come with building AI tooling at scale.
The conversation naturally gravitated toward a few big themes:
- Breaking into industry โ what to prioritize as a student, how to think about your first role, and what "fit" actually means when you're evaluating companies
- Early career decisions โ the pivots I made, what I'd do differently, and why I think being a generalist early is underrated
- AI tooling โ how I'm using AI in my day-to-day engineering work and what I think that means for the next generation of engineers entering the field
The Q&A turned into one of those conversations where you can tell folks are genuinely curious โ not just going through the motions. That energy makes all the difference. ๐
If you're a student thinking about your path in tech, feel free to reach out. I love these conversations.
