Who am i

I’m a Senior Software Engineer at Slack, where I build delightful, high-impact product experiences. Beyond code, I’m passionate about mentoring and helping engineers grow — especially those from underrepresented communities in tech. 💪🏽

Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, I’m proudly Peruvian-American 🇵🇪 and now based in the Bay Area with my two Corgis, Luna & Sueño 🐾. I hold a Bachelor's in Computer Science from Hampton University and an Master's in Engineering from Cornell Tech.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me playing fetch with my dogs, scuba diving or binging the latest Netflix series with my boyfriend, Andrew.

Experience

I first started learning how to code in 2013, began getting paid to code in 2015, and have been working full-time as a software engineer since 2017.

Over the past seven years, I’ve specialized in product and growth engineering — building high-impact experiences in React and TypeScript while collaborating closely with design and product teams. I love turning complex ideas into user-centered features that scale.

I'm currently working at where I’ve contributed to 3 major pillars of their product ecosystem:

(1) Messaging Pillar — Sidebar Systems Team
Currently focused on improving how millions of users organize and navigate their workspaces through updates to the Slack sidebar and notifications experience.

(2) Productivity Pillar — Lists Team
Helped launch Slack Lists to general availability — a brand-new native task and project management feature inside Slack. Partnered cross-functionally to design and deliver one of Slack’s most significant feature launches in recent years.

(3) Growth Pillar — Customer Acquisition Team
Currently focused on improving how millions of users organize and navigate their workspaces through updates to the Slack sidebar and notifications experience.
